According to the state news reports, Saudi Arabia is going to start accepting vaccinated global explorers to the Islamic divine city of Mecca as part of the umrah pilgrimage on Monday.

From today i.e Aug 9, Saudi Arabia will likely begin receiving appeals for umrah trips from abroad for vaccinated travelers.

The relocation comes 18 months after the border was closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Saudi Arabia will probably commence accepting vaccinated foreign pilgrims to the Islamic holy city of Mecca as part of the umrah pilgrimage on Monday, according to the state news service.

The Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed the beginning of receiving umrah performers from residents and people, as well as gradually receiving umrah requests from various nations all around.

Vaccinated worshipers from countries on the Middle Eastern kingdom's entry-ban list, according to the report, will be subjected to institutional quarantine upon arrival.

Travelers from other countries are mandatory to be vaccinized approved by Saudi Arabia. Domestic travelers were allowed to come back to Umrah in October, which can easily be undertaken at any time of year as opposed to the yearly hajj trip.

In normal times, both pilgrimages produce around $12 billion (10.3 billion euros) in revenue for Saudi Arabia.
