The Coronavirus will not leave us alone, and the only way to combat the raging pandemic is to get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine does not protect people from becoming infected with the virus. It does, however, lessen the severity and reduces the need for hospitalization.
If you haven't already, taking both doses of COVID-19 vaccination should be at the top of your priority list. Along with the vaccines, you will need to know how to download the vaccine certificate, as it will become as important as your Aadhar card in the coming days.
If you have received one or both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, you should download the certificate as soon as possible. The certificate would allow you to travel freely to most states without having to undergo an RT PCR test, and you might be able to get freebies if you are fully vaccinated.
All of this, however, is contingent on your ability to successfully produce your vaccination certificate. There are numerous platforms and locations from which you can obtain your vaccine certificate; however, in this article, we will explain how to obtain your certificate via WhatsApp.
So, here's how to get a COVID-19 certificate using WhatsApp.
- To assist people with COVID-related resources, the Government of India launched the MyGov Corona HelpDesk WhatsApp chatbot. However, you can now use the chatbot to obtain your vaccine certificate.
- When you open the chat, type Download Certificate in the dialogue box.
- After you enter the command, WhatsApp will send a six-digit OTP to your registered mobile number. It would be more convenient for you if you sent a message from the number you registered on the CoWin application for the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Locate the OTP and enter it into the MyGov WhatsApp chatbox.
- The WhatsApp number is +91 9013151515 (MyGov Corona Helpdesk). Include the phone number in your contact list.
- Open WhatsApp and search for the MyGov number you saved on your phone in the search bar.
- If you have more than one registered user, WhatsApp will send you a list of people and ask you to select one.
- Depending on the number of people who have registered, you will be given one, two, or three options. Enter the number for which you want the certificate.
- After that, the Chatbox will send you the COVID-19 vaccination certificate. You can get it on your phone.
I registered more than two people for the COVID-19 vaccination and successfully downloaded all three certificates through WhatsApp. You will still receive your certificate whether you are partially or fully vaccinated.
You can also get your certificate from the CoWin or Aarogya Setu apps. However, do not give strangers your COVID-19 certificate because it contains sensitive information about you.
